Following last week’s disappointment of not fulfilling their fixture against somerton it was imperative that Burnham honoured the league and fulfilled this fixture.
The earlier fixture between these 2 teams was an entertaining game with Burnham running out 58 25 winners.
So with just 16 men one debutant and players out of position the game was set.
Played out on the reserve pitch which was in superb condition which was just what Burnham needed against mineheads bigger pack.
Burnham started the game stronger with good phase play ending in Tim piper dancing over.
More direct play from Burnham stalwart Alan house allowed Jude Donnelly to leave defenders in his wake to power over.
He soon scored his 2nd after a powerful 30metre maul from the stags forwards with him peeling off and flying under the posts.
Minehead gathered themselves and through a kick and chase scored under the posts.
Instead of going into their shells Burnham hit back immediately with Ryan beard catching the kick off and falling just short of the line offloading to powerhouse Jack manlow to score.
Again not sitting in their laurels Burnham applied pressure in defence allowing fin Ingham the chance to intercept and sprint in from 50 metres to score.
Halftime
Message at half-time was to keep enjoying ourselves run everything and take the chances.
The message got through to the players and the ball was thrown around like it was a summers day and played with more of a sevens feel to it than a wet cold January Saturday.
More scores from Ryan and Jude completed burnhams day in what was a thoroughly enjoyable game.
Burnham travel away to Yeovil on Saturday to try and complete the double over them and keep themselves up in top 4 contention.
