A match of two halves,as they say,Burnham cool, calm and collected in the first half and at times in total disarray in the second.Burnham played up the slope initially, controlling possession and territory,so much so that they were dominant in the scrums, rampant in the loose, earning themselves a well constructed try scored by Phil Collings in the corner, followed by a penalty goal by Cooper to go into halftime 8nil up.The second half started well enough but, suddenly,a misplaced kick put Matson on the front foot and within 25 minutes Matson ran in 6 tries and only in the last ten minutes did Burnham respond with a smartly taken try by Bobby Hewlett.36-13.Too many errors and poor decision making contributed to Burnham’s downfall. This week Burnham entertain table toppers Chard, kickoff 2-30pm.
