Burnham 2nd XV 27   Tor 2nd XV 7

The home side went in to this fixture with there head held high after last weeks heavy defeat which is now in the past.
Captain, Matt Slater had an astonishing 24 players to choose from this week and naturally started with his strongest 15 but were struggling to show it on the pitch in the first half.
Tor turned up with only 14 men but you did not notice it on the pitch as they showed true grit, determination, strength and characater through out the full 80 minutes which paid off when they took a 0-7 lead within the first 15 minutes.

Burnham then began to wake up and camped Tor in there own half which allowed Greg ‘Horse’ Gosden to use what speed he had and pure physic to cash he way over the line for Burnhams first try which was unconverted. 5-7.
the home side didnt stop there and a young Ryan Reynolds forced his way over for his first ever senior try to put the home team in the lead at half time10-7.

Slater rang the changes at half time and throughout the second half with appearences from Ed Lewis, Dan Ford, Dan Thorne, Mark O Regan, Mike Nash, Ash Morris, and Joe Osgood.

A more composed half saw the home side run in a further three tries from Osgood, Ben Gibb and Lewis with the later being converted by Alex Watkins which secured the much needed bonus point and a 27-7 win.

Hats off to Tor who never gave up or let there heads drop at any point in the game and had they had that 15th man who knows what would of happened.

The 2nd XV finished off 2012 on a high, with promotion earlier on in the year and to be sat 5th in the table 8 points clear of 6th is something to be proud of!
