Under the leadership of new 2nd team skipper Will Conway, thirteen of the finest men from Burnham on Sea RFC took  to the field for the first home game of the season.
With the wind at their backs, Burnham applied the first waves of attack play to a confident looking Winscombe outfit, with subs to boot.  It should be noted early on that the afternoon belonged to those development squad players who made their step up into senior rugby, Ryan Beard, and Harry Marks.  Having already had a run out on the Friday night they then came into enjoy what was a great game to be a part of.
Following a mistake in midfield by Winscombe, Ryan Beard kicked through, chased, gathered and off loaded to Ben Stacey to score. Coverted by Will Conway. Will also added a penalty following a hand in the ruck from Winscombe.  However the score soon turned around with three quick tries from Winscombe yet it was going to be 15 all at half time following  a well finished try by Elliot Donnelly.

Winscombe with some great support play put some great tries together, following the interval, however following the loss of Dennis Coggins to injury, the remaining 12 players were inspired to take the game to Winscombe.  With some great ball carriers in Ben Stacey, Matt Fear Alex Watkins and Jake Harding, the gaps opened up and they interlinked well with the team to put away some fantastic tries.  The final one being taken neatly by Harry Marks. A great result!

Burnham are away at Wells next week.
