Not such a glorious afternoon at the pit the 2s welcomed Somerton rfc.
On the back of a frustrating loss away to winscombe the previous week the lads welcomed back a couple of familiar old faces in phillip hobbs Matthew slater and Lee Saunders.

In front of very big crowd the game started a bit nervy and quiet for the home side with last week’s game still rattling around some of their heads it took the 1st scrum of the day to settle the nerves resulting in a pushover try for Tim piper playing at 8.
Resting on their laurels a bit they allowed Somerton some field position to which they were rewarded with a try of their own.
The 2s then started to click and started to put some well worked phases together to release the ball to the backs who looked dangerous throughout the game. Next on the score sheet was felix who finished off in the corner.
Before the half finished Burnham worked a good old fashioned backs move off a scrum for young Scott beard to slice through under the posts.

Wise words from coach Chris spinks at halftime kept the lads moving forwards and were rewarded with a further 5 more tries through
Mitch Kingston x2
Josh cope x2
Ryan dickson

Another impressive performance at home but it needs to step up for away trips this season.
Next Saturday away to Minehead

Man of the match Scott beard.
