Burnham exacted retribution in a most emphatic manner.Both sides had made changes through injuries and work committments and in front of a good sized crowd,they produced a stunning spectacle.Ivybridge again started the betterand after 10 minutes were awarded a penalty and from the resulting lineout caught and drove the ball over.0-7.After another 10 minutes a long kick from Ivybridge was gathered by Tuttiet,who set off,finding space before shipping the ball along to Piper,quickly out to Muskett who slipped past 2 defenders and then produced an astute reverse pass to Matt Love to blister past the defence and score under the posts.Piper converted7-7.Back came Ivybridge to produce a carbon copy of their first try.7-12.Burnham responded by pressurising Ivybridge to such extent that Piperpopped up a shrewd little kick for Tom Chaffey to catch and cross the line.piper converted.14-12.Four minutes later another well-placed kick by Piper,bounced nicely for Love then swiftly passed to Josh Holder to brush aside the defender and score out wide .Piper converted.21-12.On the stroke of halftime Ivybridge kicked a penalty to make the score 21-15.Throughout the second half Burnham produced the kind of rugby that showed that they were more than a match for anyonr and after 10 minutes skipper broke out,punched a kick into the heart of Ivybridge’s defence,creating panic ,so much so that a despairing kick was collected by Tom Chaffey to race in.26-15.Burnham conceded a penalty 3 minutes later 26-18.By this time however,Burnham had the bit between their teeth awarded another penalty lineout, caught by Fear,driven on before Mike Hocking broke through.\Piper converted.33-18 .Burnham kept up the onslaught ,pushed back Ivybridge’s scrum,Tuttiet spoiling opposition ball,whereupon Mason Shaw pounced on the loose ball ran around the blindside,jinked inside and crossed the line Piper converted 40-18.Finally on the stroke of time Burnham were awarde a penalty lineout,caught and drove,Tim Piper joined the forwards,snaffled the ball to claim the try and then converted .47-18.A scintillating victory to round out the season with every playing his part,especially Maka who was nominated man of the match.WELL DONE BURNHAM FOR A FANTASTIC SEASON.
