Burnham travelled to West Devon well supported by their ever faithful following, finally arriving after an eventful journey when their coach driver tried to demolish as much of the coach as he could, but we all arrived safely,to be rewarde with Burnham, yet again coming away with maximum points.Tavistock started the match brightly, but after weathering the early pressure,Burnham proceeded to exert their own inimitable brand of rugby football where they were rewarded with a penalty 5 metres out and for the umpteenth time this season drove Tavistock backwards for a pushover try claimed by Stuart Blake.0-5.Straight from the restart caught the ball and set up phase after phase, with virtually every player being involved until finally releasing Love, who astutely passed back inside to a marauding Ollie Streeter,Piper converted.0-12.Four minutes later Burnham broke out of their half allowing Tom Chaffey the opportunity to turn on the after burners only to be denied the glory by being tripped when he was obviously clear.Penalty try.Piper converted.0-19Just a few minutes later Burnham secured a comfortable lineout, followed by three successful phase from one side of the pitch to the other so that after opening up the defence, down the line for a classic try in the corner,Tom Chaffey getting his just reward.0-24.Twenty minutes of unrelenting power,co-ordination and understanding, but iufortunately Burnham seemed to go off the boil and apart from a Piper penalty halfway through the second half were unable to reach the giddy heights of the first half allowing Tavistock back in the game through ill-disciplne and poor decisions enabling them to claim two late tries.Final score 10-27.A consummate performance from Burnham but they must learn to close out these games with a more determined attitude.Well done Burnham.
