From the start of this game it was clearly going to be a struggle for Martock who were two players short of a team from the start but luckily Burnham were able to help them out with a couple of players.
Within the first few minutes of the game starting, Ed Lewis galloped in from 40 metres to score a try over in one corner which was converted by Scott Havercroft.
This was going to be a veritable try fest with Burnham continuously piling on the pressure the ball was kicked through by Havercroft from the 10 metre line, Felix Grandfield chased it to touch it down just to the right of the posts. Again converted by Havercroft
With in seconds from a scrum , with a Burnham put in, the ball was filtered out to Connor Howard who raced in from the 10 metre line to touch the ball down between the posts and Havercroft converted taking the score to 28-0.The ball then was again picked up by Howard who raced in from the 10 metre line side stepping through a host of players touching down between the posts, again, converted by Havercroft.
ed Lewis then carried the ball through the pack to the 10 metre line passing to Josh Cope running straight through their defence , again converted by Havercroft.
Matt Love then joined the party handing off several players ,running in from the 10metre line to score, again converted by Havercroft.
After 22 minutes play the score was 22-0.
Next up was Josh Cope, the ball was passed all through the back line carried through by Josh and again Havercroft converted.
Back to the centre where the ball was picked up by Matt Love and through some deft moves and an incredible turn of speed found himself again on the try line.
In the first half Josh Cope and Connor Howard both scored another try bringing the score to 75-0 at half time.
With the change over of players in the second half, martock defence improved and attack was stronger and they were able to pull back two tries and one conversion giving them 12 points.
But Burnham continued to dominate. During the second half Ed lewis scoring two tries, Matt Love one and Jake Harding one. All credit to Martock who despite facing a slick Burnham pack , continued to give it their all til the end whistle and thus can hold their heads up high.
