though their league status depended on it,but eventually Burnham’s strength, skill and fitness levels proved too much for Quins. From the start Burnham’s pack set out their stall, gaining advantage in both set and loose and from a penalty lineout they demonstrated their power with a well controlled catch and drive with Mike Hocking claiming the touchdown.5-0.Ten minutes later Burnham transgressed and were suitably punished 5-3.Shortly after that Burnham produced a carbon copy of the first try with Hocking yet again collecting the honour.10-3.However Quins were certainly not going to roll over and after Burnham were caught offside Quins executed a quickly taken tap penalty, catching Burnham unawares, breaking away to record a converted try.10-10.Burnham hit back almost instantly with a sweeping move involving Streeter,Latu and then out to skipper Blake to draw the defence so that Russell Pike could breach the defence.15-10.The second half started the same as the first with Quins holding Burnham at bay until inevitably constant pressure, including several penalties, allowed Burnham to create a gap for Jordan Paul to race through.20-10.Next it was the midfield trio’s turn, following the pack taking one against the head the combination of Vunipola Piper and finally Rich Muskett to cross the line.25-10.Within two minutes Burnham’s explosive forwards took another one against the head with Webb scooping up the loose ball and with excellent support from both pack and backs sufficient space was created for Muskett to collect his second try with Piper finally finding his kicking boots.32-10.Nothing could stop Burnham now and deep from within their own half they produced another sweeping move, involving many players before collected the final pass to run round the defence and score close to the posts.39-10.Burnham are now starting to gel for most of the match, just occasionally having lapses of concentration, but when you consider that Burnham has such a high level of younger players, then it can only improve.Well done Burnham. This week Burnham travel to Whitehall,Bristol.Kickoff 2-30pm,coach leaves at midday.
