Burnham kept up their match winning run with a controlled performance on a windswept pitch in the heart of Bristol. From the start Burnham’s forceful pack were rewarded by catching Whitehall offside.Piper penalty.0-3.Fifteen minutes later after a penalty lineout Burnham executed their catch and drive with Vunipola and Tim Piper adding the extra weight with Piper claiming the score and then converting.0-10.Whilst Burnham had the advantage of the wind in the first half they continued to play their normal game and after another successful scrum followed by three phases Vunipola’s well-timed pass enabled Piper to breach the defence.0-17.Halftime.For the second half Burnham changed their method of play, keeping it tight and then releasing the backs scoring almost immediately through Bobby Hewlett and then 25 minutes later with Russell Pike.0-27.Only in the very last minute did Burnham succumb.7-27.A fine victory proving that Burnham can adapt to all conditions.Well done. This Saturday Burnham travel to Cirencester.Coach leaves at 1100hrs.
