Burnham played their last match of the season under sunny skies, but unfortunately played under a cloud in the first 20 mintes and found themselves 10-0 down. At last they broke out through Jake Allen,ably supported by Tom Wall before releasing Brandon Pettitt to Burnham on the scoreboard,converted by Will Conway. 7-10. Shortly after a poor clearing kick by Tor, bounced kindly for Pettittto score ease Burnham in front.12-10. Tor instantly retaliated with a quickly taken penalty to score out wide. 12-15. Halftime.
From the restart Pettitt intercepted and opened his legs and showed his true class.19-15. Quickly followed by determined movement from backs and forwards alike, creating enough space for Nick McKenn to show his considerable strength to reach out and touch down. 24-15. 2 minutes later Burnham yet again showed their true colours,after Shaw had muscled his way out of defence to give an opportunity for Will Conway to finish off the move.29-15.bBurnham in full flight ,took a quick tap penalty with a rampaging Fereday before slipping a neat offload to Jack Manilow to score 36-15. In the closing moments Burnham’s lack of tackling culminated in a late consolation try for Tor. Final score 36-22. A fitting finish to a successful season for Burnham achieving third place in their league. Well done Burnham.
