Burnham travelled to Gloucester to face the league leaders,who were needing just one more win to claim the league title,but Burnham did not give in easily and apart from a ten minute lapse after halftime they were right up there with them.Burnham opened the scoring after 10 minutes with a well executed penalty lineout,followed by a determined struggle with their opposing pack,they managede to find enough strengthto pushover Coney Hill with Luke Gowan claiming the try.0-5.Five minutes later Coney Hill replied in similar fashion with their No.8 peeling off and crashing over.5-5.Burnham were not set back by this and after Coney Hill had transgressed Piper sweetly kicked the penalty 5-8.On the stroke of halftime Coney hill were awardede penalty,which from the ensuing lineout they repeatd the some move as their first try.10-8.Halftime.As re3ported earlier Burnham seemed to lose their way for a while allowing Coney Hill to run in three tries thereby leaving Burnhan trailing by 27-8.However Burnham did not drop their heads and spent the rest of the match in Coney Hill’s half pressing away until eventually with a carbon copy of their first try Luke Gowan claimed his second try.27-13.For the rest of the game Burnham tried their hardest,even when they were down one man through injuries,they couldn’t manage to claim a bonus losing point.Final score27-13.A heroic effort from Burnham and if they managr to beat Keynsham next week,they will avoid relegation.Well done Burnham,especially man of the match Jack Pope.Burnham’s final match is at home to Keynsham this Saturday kickoff 3pm.
