Burnham travelled to Gloucester and after a harrowing, eventful journey emerged victorious following a tense struggle against determined opponents.Burnham had to make several changes from the previous week due to injuries and unavailabilities.bur proved that they can still find some able replacements. The first half produced very little note except Stroud kicking a penalty and Burnham missing the chance to score their, normally well worked lineout routine.Halftime 3-0.Stroud started the second half intent on redressing the fact they were against the elements by creating sufficient pressure from several phases before releasing the ball out wide to score in the corner. 8-0.This prompted player coach Vunipola to bring himself on to encourage Burnham to step up the tempo and it worked.Tuttiet stole the ball from a Stroud scrum, whipped a pass to Vunipola, who popped an inside pass to McKen,back to Vunipola and then on to Tim Piper to score close to the posts.7-8.Burnham kept their foot on the pedal and after Tuttiet had been denied a perfectly good try they gained just reward.Securing good ball from a scrum Gowan picked up,gave to Tuttiet,on to Vunipola who timed his pass exsquistely to Piper, who was tackled just short but was able to offload to the marauding Nick McKen,Piper converted,8-14.That should really have been that but much to the surprise of Burnham’s travelling Faithful eight minutes into injury time, after the referee awarded two penalties they managed to scramble over under the posts. With the result hanging on the conversion,Stroud’s kicker took too much time allowing Piper to charge the kick down.Fulltime 13-14.A gutsy performance from Burnham, who again fielded eight players 21 and under, all of which more than justified their right to be selected .Well done Burnham. This week’s match i at home against Barton Hill kickoff 3pm.
